Itinerary

The Experience

This is no ordinary hiking tour. To give you a deeper insight into this rare and remarkable landscape, we have specialist expert guides including an ecologist and geologist. Keen to share their wisdom and passion with you. Learn about the striking dolerite columns on the Tasman Peninsula from a professional geologist and see them from a different perspective on a Pennicott Wilderness boat tour. Learn the science and the magic of our ancient forests with your knowledgeable botanist as he shares his passion and years of experience.

We have curated Tasmania's best luxury hiking experience. Immerse yourself in some of the most spectacular coastlines on this multi-day, pack-free hiking adventure. Walk on top of the Southern Hemisphere's highest sea cliffs, cruise around dramatic dolomite rock formations rising from the ocean, lunch on a white sand beach alongside turquoise waters and enjoy a guided wine tasting at an award winning winery.

Our hikes are suitable for a range of fitness levels and we provide only gourmet catering along the way. At the end of the day, you return to your comfortable Stewarts Bay Lodge accommodation and enjoy top quality breakfasts and dinners at On The Bay Restaurant.

Connecting you with world class, yet local subject matter experts, this unexpected adventure is the perfect opportunity to appease your curiosity and love for nature, for an odyssey you will never forget!

Day One

Start your tour with a 9km hike to Mount Brown and Crescent Bay where you can feel the white sand between your toes or even enjoy a refreshing swim as we break for our gourmet packed lunch on the beach. We go to extreme lengths to source the highest quality local products to nourish you on your hikes. The track to the summit of Mount Brown is steep with the view from the top well worth the effort. Gazing out over the blue ocean in clear weather you'll have spectacular views of Cape Raoul, Cape Pillar and Tasman Island.

Day Two

We then hike the spectacular Cape Raoul with a geologist as she shares her in-depth knowledge of the dolerite cape. Expect jaw-dropping views, seabirds and another delicious gourmet packed lunch. The longer you sit back and enjoy the view, the greater your chance will be to see feeding albatross, dolphins and migratory whales. This patch of wildly changing water forms some of the most treacherous sections of the Sydney to Hobart yacht race.

Day Three

On your third day, you hike to Cape Hauy, part of the world-famous Three Capes Walk, with an ecologist. Learn about the significance of the Tasmanian forests in relation to global ecological changes. This stunning walk will be etched into your memory forever. The cape juts out into the ocean with 360-degree views. Dolerite columns plunge into the sea. Keep an eye out for brave rock climbers, soaring eagles and even passing whales.

Day Four

Once you've seen these globally significant cliffs from atop, it's time to see the coastline from a different perspective, on a Pennicott Wilderness boat tour! Sit back and enjoy this unforgettable three-hour cruise as you travel beneath the high sea cliffs exploring waterfalls, archways, rock formations and deep-sea caves. Get up close to seals as they bask on the rocks, and watch for dolphins.

Stay in the heart of the Tasman Peninsula where you will have a private room and unwind in the relaxed shared spaces. At the end of the day, you return to your comfortable Stewarts Bay Lodge accommodation and enjoy top quality breakfasts and dinners at On The Bay Restaurant.

After getting your step count up with plenty of fresh air in your lungs, we end our tour with a guided wine tasting and meal at Bangor Vineyard Shed, Gold Medal winner at the 2022 Australian Tourism Awards.
