Salamanca Story Walk
An intriguing step back in time to our colonial days
Take a walk on the dark side as we explore Tasmania’s fascinating colonial history. This is no ordinary walking tour. You’ll be transported back in time to the days of early settlement – where whalers drank, convicts fought and shady characters found refuge in the pubs along the winding streets…
Part of the historic docks area of Hobart, walk along cobbled pathways among the Georgian sandstone warehouses that were built by convicts in the 1830s.
Wander quaint laneways lined with charming restored colonial cottages. Originally a maritime village, learn about the whalers and merchants who visited the area.
Be transported back in time with stories of shady characters and the hardships of convict men and women as you walk through beautiful architectural treasures.
At 12pm meet at the front entrance of Salamanca Arts Centre – No. 77 Salamanca Place
We will return here at 2:30pm
