As we embark on a scenic drive through the Channel, you'll be treated to stunning views of the rugged coastline, lush forests, and tranquil bays. Your local guide will share insights into the rich history and unique ecosystem of the area.
Visit lutruwita/Tasmania's only sheep's cheesery and the distillery world famous for it's sheep's whey vodka and gin. Grandvewe Cheese and Hartshorn Distillery is one of Australia's most sustainable sheep farms,
leading the way in compostable packaging and a 'waste not want not' attitude. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of rolling hills and tranquil bays, enjoy a private cheese tasting as we visit before they open to the public, we indulge in a private tasting of their exceptional cheeses and spirits, crafted with passion and a deep respect for the natural environment. We savor the unique flavors and textures that can only come from the milk of happy, healthy sheep that roam the lush pastures of Birchs Bay.
Nestled in the idyllic town of Birchs Bay you'll find Five Bob Farm. Home to Diemen Pepper, Australia's largest producer of Tasmanian pepperberries. Here guests will have the opportunity to learn more about this fascinating native berry as they provide us with some insight into the work Diemen Pepper does. After, enjoy a short stroll through the working farm before we depart for Mewstone.
You'll see why the Hughes family fell in love with the property at Mewstone Wines as soon as we step off the bus. With sweeping views of the vineyard and surrounding waterways, it makes for the perfect location to sip on their award-winning wines.
For lunch we will stop into the Seawall cafe, a welcoming little cafe situated in the quite town of Kettering.
We will then make our way back up the Channel to arrive in nipaluna/Hobart at roughly 5.30pm.
